Connecting to Linux using putty..
for connecting a linux machine(I have installed Ubuntu on an old laptop to play around), we have to install the OpenSSH Server.
command for doing that..
sudo apt-get install openssh-server
Since my Linux machine is in local network, I can connect to it using the IP address which is like 192.168.2.6
